Our Story

Kyle and Natalie Cline served at Chisago Lakes Baptist Church in Chisago City, Minnesota before God led them to Japan. While at Chisago Lakes, Kyle served Associate Pastor and led the church’s student ministries. Natalie joined him in serving in the student ministries as well as serving in women’s discipleship ministries.

Before Kyle and Natalie ever met, God had instilled in both of them a heart for the gospel to spread to the nations. God begun burdening Kyle’s heart for Japan while he was in high school, and he first visited Japan in 2018 on a missions trip. After they were married, Kyle and Natalie took a trip together to see the work in Japan. This trip helped them as a couple visualize the great need for both gospel workers and healthy churches in Japan.

Although Kyle and Natalie enjoy music, camping, ice skating, baking, walking, skiing/snowboarding, and traveling together, their greatest love is Jesus Christ and His church. They anticipate an exciting future of helping plant, establish, and reproduce healthy, gospel-preaching churches in Japan for the worship and glory of God.

Kyle was born into a missionary family serving in Ontario, Canada. God was kind to him in allowing him to hear the gospel from a young age. He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of seven—realizing that his personal sin separated him from a holy God. He was baptized by immersion later that year. After graduating high school, he attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication.

After college, Kyle spent a year in Alberta, Canada. Through the influence of his pastor in Alberta, Jim Tillotson, the Lord led Kyle to Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa where he accepted a job in the admissions office and enrolled in seminary classes. Kyle graduated with his M.A. in Biblical Studies in 2018, and he anticipates graduating with his M.Div. in 2024.

Kyle first visited Japan in 2018 on a missions trip through Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary. After they were married, Kyle returned with Natalie to revisit Japan. The Lord continued to lead them to serve Him in Japan as full-time missionaries. Their burden is this—to see healthy churches established in Japan for the worship and glory of God.

Natalie grew up in northern Minnesota and was saved at a young age when her dad shared the gospel with her through the nativity narrative on Christmas. She was baptized several years later.

The Lord burdened Natalie’s heart for missions from a young age through her mom reading missionary biographies and hosting missionaries in their home. While growing up, her burden for the lost continued to grow, and she continued to pursue the goal of international missions. After receiving her RN degree from Angelina Community College, Natalie transferred to Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa where she received a B.S. in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Missionary Nursing.

In her 6 years of nursing experience, God has given Natalie countless opportunities to share the gospel with patients and coworkers. These opportunities have only burdened her heart for the lost further. After she and Kyle married in 2020, the Lord opened up the opportunity for them to travel together to Japan. God used this trip to help visualize the need for gospel workers in Japan.
